Technology Marketer, System Analyst, Software Designer, Network Planner and Support Engineer, Project Manager, Suhrid is the second generation in the ICT industry from Bangladesh. Started his career, in pioneer software company of Bangladesh, IBCS-PRIMAX, he introduced Microsoft products in Bangladesh since 1995. With a proposal of SMART ID for every citizen of Bangladesh, in 1995, he presented his vision with Abu Ahmed, who helped him to take it to the right pathway.
Introduced Sun Microsystems Inc., competing with solution giant like IBM, DIGITAL, COMPAQ and HP, made a strong footstep by achieving his installation permission in AERE, SRDI, and telecom operator GP, AkTel, Sheba, he can be identified as the First Sun Support Service Engineer of the country to support installations in Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar.
Initiated the journey of national software service industry platform, dream of his father A. Towhid, he contributed his efforts and supports for the birth of BASIS, keeping himself behind the scene always.
Serving other local software companies like, CNS Limited, TechnoVista Limited, he moved to Ericsson AB, as Project Manager for Telecom giant Grameen Phone. Installed several MSCs and BSCs, he was involved with the southern belt microwave connectivity and GPRS solution along with the upcoming 3G at then.
Following the days with Ericsson, he was contributing with Orascom Telecom in view to acquisition of Sheba Telecom. Joined the journey with Orascom in 2005, he played a vital role on rebranding of Banglalink. Planned, initiated, monitored and supported the technical team along with marketing, sales, customer care, admin and HR, as the cross functional activity manager, he was involved as the first only Bangladeshi Management Member in the board. His Environment, Health and Safety Policy has been accepted by IMF and World Bank and been implemented globally in telecom sector.
Leaving country apart in 2011, he still never hesitates to contribute his efforts for Bangladesh market. Understanding the requirement of strong presence of official endorsement, Suhrid, initiated to establish IT for Crafts to transform it as the ‘FINGERTIPS’, to make the project stronger, to make it a real success.
Believing in ‘togetherness, any success can be achieved’, and ‘supports to empower the women, who can dream with a vision’, Suhrid is always ready to take any bold step. Never forgets his roots in Bangladesh, and endeavours to take any initiative to represent his country to make the country proud.
